Unlike some technological advances others require more polutants like oil and other fossil fuels. As more and more things are changing, more people need to be involved in knowing about the enviorment. Although the changes might be positive or negative it always impacts us and the world around us.
Technology can affect the Earth both positive and negative ways. Newer technology helps scientists to understand the enviornment and how to help it. Some of the negative ways are how more and more people are using more things which require more fossil fuels that are bad for the enviornment. A good way that technology affects our eviorment is that it can spread the word about sometihing that could help our eviorment. And it can also help reduce cars on the road because of IM and e mail you can talk and share things with the people without having to go to their house to talk or show something. A way techonology can be bad for our eviorment is that most people computers and technology equipment runs on electricity and when we use electricity it takes from our natural resources, insteaad people should find alrernate ways of energy to run our technological equipment.

I learned at Bregs that every time you rip a piece of styrofoam it realeses 4 atoms of carbon into the air. To help make a change in the use of styrofoam, I used the computer to go on Chick-fil-a's website. I told them I like their food but their styrofoam cups are affecting the air and environment. I am hoping they will respond soon.

Technology also helps create more eco friendly farming techniques. Technology can also effect our enviornment in negative ways. Such as producing more polution in streams and in the air which kills important plants and animals. Thechnology such as lawnmowers creates sound pollution. Also the sedimentary pollution caused by heavy equipment around water ways deminishes the populations. As one can see thechnology affects our enviorment in many ways both good and bad.

The new technology, the screw-in fluorescent light bulbs, solar-powered electronics, even rechargable batteries, all are more efficient and helps to cut down on pollution and the overall breakdown of our planet. On the other hand, the older technology, non-rechargable batteries, fossil fuel powered factories, even CRT televisions that use tubes hurt the environment. With both of these in mind we can't say that our current technology helps the environment or that it hurts it, it does both.

Another negative impact occurs when heavy equipment levels land near water ways creating sedimentary pollutions that deminishes the population. As one can see technology effects our enviorment in ways both good and bad.
